We are excited about this upcoming year. It is the goal of our entire staff to make your years with us challenging, rewarding, and successful. At Hillcrest Elementary School we believe strongly in the combined involvement of school, family and community.
Our Elementary Parent/Student Handbook was sent home during the first week of school. It has been prepared to serve as a guide for you. The information, regulations, and requirements described in the handbook have been developed to give our children the best education possible and to protect their health and safety.
Parents, if you have questions or there is information that I need to know please feel free to give me a call at 463-3113 or email me at
. Please be sure to read all of the information that comes home from the classroom and office each week. We try to keep everyone informed and we want you to be involved in your child's education.

Welcome To Hillcrest Elementary
On behalf of my staff, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you as a visitor to our website. Hillcrest Elementary School houses the district's second and third grades. We have so much to be proud of at Hillcrest. Our staff strives to promote academic excellence with our students. Our students practice good character daily using the principles they learn in our Character Counts program. Our facility offers many opportunities for learning. We have a computer lab with 24 stations that are all internet accessible. Our library offers students a comfortable and inviting place to browse for books. The stage area off from the gym can be used for performances, assemblies, and is also used as a Science lab. Hillcrest has 24 classroom spaces and currently has 7 second grade sections and 8 third grade sections. The building houses the SXI and Moderately Cognitively Impaired classrooms that are part of our Gratiot Isabella Regional School District. Our staff promotes inclusion with our special education students in the building.
We are especially proud of the collaboration we have with our staff and Hillcrest families. Visitors are welcome to the building and participate in classrooms on a daily basis. Our Reading Buddies mentoring program takes advantage of the voluntary efforts and talents of community members that come to Hillcrest on a weekly basis.
